I am a trauma-informed mental health Occupational Therapist with Home Grown OT.
I believe we need meaningful occupations, roles and activities to lead satisfying lives. We will work on practical skills in each session to aid with this and you will integrate new skills and beliefs into your daily life between sessions. We will likely start by managing unmet physiological needs like sleep, connection & safety. I am also able to provide exposure and response prevention (ERP) for severe anxiety and/or OCD.
My primary modalities are CBT (identifying thought & behavioural patterns and increasing daily activity participation), acceptance and commitment therapy (identifying values & stress management), and holistic psychology (coping and boundaries)
I do not believe that we should have hierarchical relationships in therapy, and consider you a partner in your own healing. You are the expert in yourself and your history. I believe that by identifying and living by our values, while dismantling beliefs that no longer serve us, we can live a more meaningful and fulfilling life. 2SLGBTQ++ & BLM allied
